THE HAPPY THANKSGIVING WEEK AND WEEKEND THREAD

To all those who post here and to those who just peruse, have a happy happy holiday. Thanksgiving is a time to be grateful for what we as Americans have but more importantly, who we have to share our lives with. Please feel free to share anything today and over the weekend. Stories, what you are grateful for, anything that comes to mind. Of course no topic is off limits

These quotes were posted on the Huffington Post Blog this morning so I stold a couple of them from there. With that I found a couple that seemed to hit home more than others.

"As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them." -John Fitzgerald Kennedy

"Thanksgiving was never meant to be shut up in a single day." -Robert Caspar Lintner

"The Pilgrims made seven times more graves than huts. No Americans have been more impoverished than these who, nevertheless, set aside a day of thanksgiving." -H.U. Westermayer

Ok random question. We are playing jeopardy today in my classes and the kids are having a blast.
One question(answer) for any of you out there. Geometry.

"It's a quadrilateral with 4 equal sides and 4 90 degree angles"

My geometry kids told me this answer was too vague. Seems clear to me.

Happy Thanksgiving Cheryl and enjoy your day. And don't you and your sister drink too much.

Thanksgiving has always in our family been the most special holiday. Maybe because it's all about being grateful without all the chaos of gift giving or easter bunnies along with it. It's probably why it's the holiday I miss my dad most on.

But we have tons to be grateful for this year. Emily Rose being first and foremost.

I wish everyone a blessed, happy, and safe holiday.

I suck at math, but that sounds suspiciously like a Square! :-)

Okay just made the cranberry salad stuff and have the brownies in the oven (gotta have brownies... right?). I'll tackle the pie in the morning.

I ordered pizza for the kids for lunch - have four of them today. Playing Monoply. And with Dev it's like a contact sport, that game. Take no prisoners.

Oh hey - I saw Nik on Y&R today day-dreaming about Sharon. Hee! Good times!

Yeah it's a square. Now we spent a week talking about quadrilaterials and right angles, obtuse angles, and this one is too hard. Ok I'm not buying all the whining by the kids. There is no counterexample for this stmt either. Huh.

*sniff* ATWT sentimental moment.

I wonder how lovely the family T-day moments will be on GH. *rolls eyes*

Kate, maybe the kids are on low brain-function because of the looming holiday. lol

Yeh I think most are checked out today. Anxious for the long weekend and the holiday but they seem to enjoy the brownies and pumpkin squares.

mmmm.... pumpkin squares. *drools*

The boys have abandoned monopoly for poker. Not sure what to think of that. lol But they're quiet and no one is yelling at anyone, so I guess that's good.

Poker? Cute.

hee! GH is actually super cute today. I wish they would do this kind of thing all the time - not just the odd holiday.

*sigh*

One last hurrah happy Thansgiving to everyone and god bless and I just hope my Bears don't get too crushed over the weekend by Brett Favre.
