I want to make a comment and this is not to offend any of the posters here and those who may choose to peruse this blog and not post.
I am EXTREMELY disappointed in the fact that posters who were extremely active on The parapet at one time have for all purposes disappeared.
No email, so goodbye best wishes, no nothing.
I realize some things said here may not sit well with some and might anger some. It's people frustrated and it's another dagger to the heart of fans of an actress to see what happened to her once on this show happen again.Only this time, it was done with such disregard it's harder to take I think.
But over the years posting at the site I felt agreement, discussion, and debates were decent and well thought out. It's sad that friendships formed there seem to have gone by the waste side over disagreement over 2 actors and a soap opera.
I for one appreciate those who still come here and choose to post and debate and those who may read here. And for those of you who may still peruse this site but are upset with comments made and have chosen not to participate or maintain contact, I'm sorry. I'm sorry that a fictional show over 2 fictional characters and 2 actors seemed to have caused this. In this world where you can't have enough friends, it's a very sad commentary.
Awwww Kate...come here... ((HUGS)). Don't take it personally. Some people I'm sure just needed a break from the crap and Natty's firing or departure was just it for them. I'm sure that there are some TCFF who probably don't dig our vibe, but thats okay, too. I loved NL/TC & NikE for a very long time, but for some of us it became impossible to ignore the flip comments and lack of commitment on TC's part. Thanks Nikolla. I think it's healthy for people to vent and let out their frustration. And I am sorry if the folks I guess who were really TCFF have chosen not to participate. I get that. I get anger and frustration. That's how people are feeling now and I don't get why some can't understand that. I don't get why people would choose to cut off all ties because of an actor or actress on a damn TV show. It's disappointing that folks would take it to that level.
And while their fave is still on the show, still complaints about airtime. Well last time I looked he still has a job and a storyline. She doesn't.
I'm happy she's going as hopefully it ends this pettiness once and for all on all sides.
I don't know, I just feel like this is more of a transition time for all of us, in one way or another. I'm not angry at any of the posters or friends from the old board.
I think for some of us, a clean break was made and for others - well, we still like to hash things out and talk it over. Maybe the conflict lies in HOW we do that and the fact that we're simply talking about different things. I think there are different interests at play right now. And while I obviously have my opinions, I realize that no one is more "right" than anyone else in this nonsense. We're just reacting to things in different ways and moving forward in different ways.
Unfortunately, I have no interest in talking about the character of Nikolas in any serious fashion anymore. I don't care about his motivations or his this or his that anymore. And I mean it when I say that I'm sorry about that. I am. I just don't have the energy to care about this anymore. And sadly I think I've used up my last straw where Tyler is concerned, as well. I'll always probably give him the benefit of the doubt with things since I do not know him personally, but I can't help but have gut reactions to his comments (or lack thereof) at different times. I've been following his comments, reactions, interviews, etc for a number of years now and yeah, I've got an opinion about it. I react to it. I think that's human nature. Sometimes it's fair and sometimes it's not. And honestly I don't think Tyler gives two craps about what I think - so why should it matter?
BUT, with that said, there are other old NEm fans who still like Tyler and Nikolas and who still want to discuss the character and who are still interested in what happens to him going forward. There are days that I wish that was me. But it just isn't. It's over for me. It's so over.
So, we move on. And some will go the way of this blog and some won't. But I'm fine with it - or at least I'm as fine with it as a person can be. I understand it, if nothing else.
For me, the friendships will always stand. They just may fade a little bit.
Perhaps once the sting is gone and a couple of months pass some of these folks will return where we can go back to discussing things unrelated to GH. It's a common bond now and hopefully we can find other things to discuss and bond over. hell there are current events, politics(yikes), movies, television, books, etc.. that can be discussed and perhaps more people will come back when we transition more into that. I think that was the intent but with all this ish happening, it's been difficult. Hopefully once Natalia is gone for good, we can all move on for good also. She probably already has.
I hear ya.
It's a weird time right now. We'll see how things shake out in a few weeks.
The Holidays are coming, after all!
Kate I think that most people are just disappointed about how this has all turned out and are trying to deal with it. I have a board that I go to and most there are trying to come to terms with this crap-fest of a Storyline. I still love Tyler and am a fan but I am not happy with what is going on right now. I don't have a problem with people who don't feel the same way about him, some don't feel that way. I love reading what you all have to say, it makes me think and it always makes me laugh.
Nikolas is being an ass right now and I am happy that I have a place to say that and not worry about someone getting all pissy about it.
