Signs of PMS are: Everyone around you has an attitude problem, you're adding chocolate chips to your cheese omelet, the dryer has shrunk every last pair of your jeans, your husband is suddenly agreeing to everything you say, you're using your cellular phone to dial up every bumper sticker that says, 'How's my driving? Call 1 800 ****"**.', you're convinced there's a God and he's male, you're counting down the days until menopause, the ibuprofen bottle is empty and you bought it yesterday.

Hi Ladies.
I had an action packed weekend - mom was admitted to the hospital on Friday for chest pains and discomfort. Luckily it turned out to be nothing serious and she's home now - just in time for T-day madness. But it made for an interesting few days around here.
At any rate - I'm making Lemon Cloud pie and Brownies and a cranberry thing for the big day. Mom is having a crowd this year, which means lots and lots of crazy family members eating pretty much non-stop all afternoon. lol
Otherwise, the week is good. Kids are out of school and will be playing with the cousins and their friends while I try to get the house in order after this weekend. My husband kicks ass in a crisis, but he doesn't do housework.
GH looked mildly interesting with the Franco stuff, but I haven't watched Friday yet.
Hope everyone has a great week!
Good Morning!!
Sounds like you had an exciting weekend Lori, happy to hear your Mom is OK.
I spent the weekend with old friends, it was great!
I am spending Thanksgiving day with my family at my sister's house. I am going over on Wednesday and help get as much ready as we can so its not so rushed on Thursday morning. There will be lots of good food and company. My diet is going to take a big hit on Thursday..LOL!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHERYL!!!! :)
L, I'm SO glad your mom's doing okay. Stressful doesn't cut it, does it? *hugs*
My T-day is actually going to be quiet. I'm not doing anything other than ordering in a meal. I'm actually fine with that - lol. I'll just watch movies and be a bum, and I'm thankful!
The Franco stuff was kind of interesting, but it took up about five minutes of the show, so it was a lot of hooey for nothing. NPR even did a story on him being on GH on Friday. I nearly wrecked my car when I heard that.
Oh Happy Birthday, Cheryl! Whoop!
B - That's rubbish. You come on down to my place for T-day. K?
I'll have to YouTube the Franco stuff. Figures that it was such a small part of the show.
When do we get to see Rebecca go all crazy-mary on NIZ? My hate for them grows with each passing day.
Lori,
Glad to hear your mom is well. I can understand how stressful that can be.
Things are working out on this end with the baby although I am a bit worried about my mom. My mom is 82(yes I was a late baby and a surprise to boot) and I'm a bit worried for her. Tim's mom is about 10 years younger. Now granted my mom is in excellent health and mentally top notch, but fortunately now the baby is spending a lot of time sleeping or in the playpen and bouncy chair. But I am a bit concerned as to what happens when she becomes more active and starts walking. We've already talked about a half day daycare(8 to noon) and then the mom(s) would only have her half a day. Plus the local daycare has a good rep and a lot of formal socialization activities are in place. It's small, only about 12 kids of various ages, but that's by design by the women who run it.
Thanksgiving. Thank goodness it's not me this year. Going to my brothers and Tim's family is having it on Saturday so lots of food over the long weekend. I'm afraid I am going to gain back some of the weight I've lost but so be it I guess.
Lori Lemon Pie was my dad's favorite and we still miss him terribly. He's been gone 3 plus years but it still seems like yesterday and lemon pie was ALWAYS his favorite.Of course my family LOVES to argue and my dad was the champion of arguing for the sake of arguing. So every Thanksgiving, when the major arguments or should I say discussions occur, his absence stands out even more. Fortnately my brother Carl and his youngest son Ryan who is 21 have picked up the reigns and both love to argue. I am sure this year it will be about Obama or how sucky the Bears are or Oprah Winfrey or some stupid nonsense as always.
I am making pumpkin pie(s) for all the events with lard based crust and my mom's recipe which calls for tons and tons of spices. And a cauliflower au gratin dish for Tim's family gathering. My idiot brother won't allow anyone to prepare anything else.
Happy Belated Birthday Cheryl and to all, happy happy thanksgiving.
Happy Gobble Gobble Day my American friends :) Enjoy!
Ah Sandra we forgot October 1 which is your Thanksgiving. Sorry for that.
Happy belated Canadian Thanksgiving.
Canadian troublemaker! ;-)
I'm sorry to hear about your dad, Kate. Mine passed away about 5 years ago and it is still leaves a hole at the holidays. I imagine it always will.
Family gatherings are never peaceful with our group, either. Sometimes that's good, and sometimes I can't wait for it to be over. lol But it's one day a year, so I suppose it's worth it.
Watching Franco right now. It's fairly odd, but compelling. Lots of stuff with Maxie. She's so much better away from Spindork.
*giving Sandra turkey and dressing* ;)
Kate, if your mom is anything like mine, you'll probably never be able to convince her that she needs to slow down or not do something or whatever. My mom's the best but that woman's stubborn as a mule! I know she'll insist on cooking for Xmas, so skipping T-day with her is probably for the best since she'd never sit down!
Watched a couple of minutes of GH with Franco and Maxie and Luke. It's kind of a kick, just wish it was a better story with more interesting characters for him to interact with.
I notice Ty-Ty's nowhere to be seen. Did they think that his Hugh Jackman-ness would overwhelm Franco? *snicker*
Thanks for the Birthday wishes everyone!! I had a great one, I am blessed!!
